Welcome!

I know the process of finding a therapist isn’t easy, and asking for help can be hard, so give yourself credit for getting this far.

Therapy can be greatly beneficial, but not knowing what to expect can cause uncertainty. I hope to ease any uncertainty by sharing about what it’s like to work with me.

My style of therapy is collaborative, casual, and direct. Much of what we'll do is have exploratory conversations to assist you in increasing insight of yourself. We'll work together to foster awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns to understand how these patterns affect you. With this awareness, we'll establish your personalized goals and work to meet these goals so you can create the change you want in your life.

About Me

Qualifications

I am a provisionally licensed mental health practitioner (PLMHP), NE #13267, in Nebraska.

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Music and Education (‘14), Central Methodist University

Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (‘22), University of Nebraska- Lincoln.

During the years in between getting these degrees, I worked in civil service. In this role, I met individuals from all over the world who shared their stories of struggle, resilience, success, and hope. I am honored to have learned of their stories. This work influenced my humanistic perspective of therapy—meaning, I seek to understand clients holistically and emphasize client agency and inherent worthiness.

My clinical experience took place at Morningstar Counseling and Consultation from 2021-2022 in Lincoln, NE. I continued my therapy career with Morningstar from 2023-2026. Following my work with Morningstar, I began my private practice.

Outside of Therapy

When I’m not seeing clients, I’m likely doing typical human things: spending time with family and friends, doling out pets to my two dogs, taking a walk, watching a movie (from B-movies to classics, I just really dig movies), reading, playing the occasional board/video game overly competitively (all in good fun!), singing some tunes, and every once in a while, cooking a new recipe where, without fail, I’ll veer off script- 1 teaspoon of thyme, you say? To hell with that, let’s do three!

  • Once I receive your email and confirm that I’m able to accept your insurance and our schedules align, I will contact you. We can then either schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation and/or move forward with scheduling the Intake session. Prior to the Intake session, I will send you documentation that will need to be completed beforehand. If our schedules don’t align and/or I’m unable to accept your insurance, I’ll provide you with referrals to assist you in your search for a therapist.

  • The Intake session is around 55 minutes long. During the Intake session, I’ll ask further questions about what brings you to therapy, gather various histories (e.g., social, family, health, work/education, etc.) to help establish a foundation for our work together. This session also allows us to get to know each other a bit more to help determine if we’re a good fit.
